What makes EnviroGreen different from the competition?
EnviroGreen, LLC was formed with the simple goal in mind to advance energy efficiency performance through an educational approach. Below are just a few things that make EnviroGreen different from the rest:
Our business model is based on education and honesty.
Unfortunately, much of the information on spray foam that sales people tell homeowners is wrong or untruthful. EnviroGreen takes an educational approach by encouraging homeowners to get a better understanding of the pro's and con's of all three types of spray foam products on the market: .5lb open cell, 1.2lb open cell and 1.7 to 2.0 closed cell.
EnviroGreen offers the only true Green and truly Louisiana local spray foam product.
While the federal government declares "green" spray foams to have only 7% renewable resource material or more by weight - and most "green" foams have just that much - EnviroGreen's .5lb open cell has over 75% Louisiana renewable resources. In fact, this product is so green you can literally drink it all the way up to almost 80% of its blending process! This .5lb foam is the only one of its kind that is not blended from pre-processed packaged petroleum polyol material, but instead, uses the most natural local indigenous materials. It has the lowest VOC content of any spray foam product; by far the least amount of petroleum material; and is the only selection that uses no EPA Abandonment Listed toxic flame retardants, yet remains the most flame resistant spray foam on the market. How about them Green Beans and Apples! Also, our 1.8lb closed cell foam has the second highest renewable resource content on the market, behind our .5lb open cell of course. So many contractors very liberally throw around the word "Green" in their marketing and advertising, but EnviroGreen truly lives up to its name by being the exclusive spray foam contractor in the Greater New Orleans Area and the national and international independent representative for the greenest spray foam in the world.
Safety comes first! Unlike most local companies, all EnviroGreen products are fully third party fire tested, approved and documented.
This is a very important subject and goes back to the education and honesty aspect of our business model. Spray foams are cellular thermoset plastic materials and therefore require certain testing to ensure code approved applications and of course the safety of your family. According to strict guidelines set forth by international and local building codes a spray foam product must meet SWRI-9902 fire testing to be applied in an attic or crawl space with combustion appliances such as a gas furnace or gas water heater. Unfortunately, most local building officials, architects, contractors, and code inspectors are not even aware of these safety codes yet. When EnviroGreen made its selection of polyurethane foam products to offer its clients… safety came first! All our spray foam products are light years ahead of the competition and are third party tested, approved and documented as the most flame resistant on the market. EnviroGreen is the only spray foam contractor, and Apex Foam Industries the only blender, that willingly disclose this information in person and on their websites for public view. Beware of a spray foam contractor that is reluctant to provide approved SWRI 99-02 documentation. If they can't show you their tests it's probably for a reason.
Note: Many spray foam products claim Class 1 or Class A flame ratings according to ASTM E-84 testing. This testing, however, displays nothing of a spray foam's burn capabilities and characteristics. In the acceptance criteria of spray foam the large scale test is the SWRI 99-02 Appendix 'C' Crawl Space Comparison. Without successful completion of this test international building and fire codes require an ignition barrier when installed in an attic or crawl space with a gas furnace or water heater. Very few spray foam products sold in the Greater New Orleans Area meet these stringent code requirements.
EnviroGreen offers the greatest number of choices of spray foam in the Metropolitan New Orleans Area.
EnviroGreen specializes in customizing spray foam packages by offering the widest variety of spray foams available. While most spray foam contractors "push" only .5lb open cell, EnviroGreen offers its clients three choices on density and the knowledge behind each option. Many of our clients have a mix of products in their homes such as closed cell under the floor, 1.2lb in the walls and .5lb open cell in the attic. Each has its own place and reason for being applied to particular areas of your home.
EnviroGreen offers the most detailed proposals and all-inclusive insulation packages.
The Federal Trade Commission outlines what must be included in a spray foam proposal to ensure proper apple-to-apple and knowledgeable bids. EnviroGreen offers the most detailed proposals on the market with exact R-values, inches of foam to be installed, and all supporting technical data and flame testing reports. In fact, it was the lack of fair marketing practices and the abundance of misleading information that encouraged the inception of EnviroGreen. This is your home and we believe that you should know what you're investing in, from green, to safety, to energy efficiency, to helping your local industry and economy.
EnviroGreen is the only spray foam contractor that offers a Lifetime Material and Labor Warranty.
The fact is that a great deal of spray foams sold are installed incorrectly or under incorrect conditions and therefore are not covered under the manufacturer's warranty. However, EnviroGreen not only ensures proper installation of superior products but also backs it up with both labor and material lifetime warranties.
