2016: The Fourth Industrial Revolution

We are currently living through the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Crazy, right?

Its now 2016, and continued global urbanization brings with it the urgent need for more efficient use of energy.  On a personal level, we can all help by insuring our homes are properly insulated to make sure no energy (heating, AC etc.) are going to waste. At EnviroGreen, we are committed to making energy efficiency improvements and maximizing energy efficiency in new construction.

Here’s a run-down on the history of  Industrial Revolutions in America. The First Industrial Revolution used water and steam power to mechanize production. The Second used electric power to create mass production. The Third used electronics and information technology to automate production. Now a Fourth Industrial Revolution is building on the Third, the digital revolution that has been occurring since the middle of the last century. It is characterized by a fusion of technologies that is blurring the lines between the physical, digital, and biological spheres.

Every day our world is growing, and urbanization continues to spread globally. Fact:  over 70% of the world’s population are expected to live in cities by 2030. This trend brings with it the urgent need for more efficient use of energy, cleaner energy generation and cost effective energy storage. While the public sector must lead, it should work closely with the private sector to rapidly implement best practice policies, programs and projects that will improve urban efficiency and sustainability.

Start with you, and make sure your home is as energy efficient as possible!
